Fun Fact: So what's the best part about staying with your best friend in NY? (Wait for it...) You get to borrow their clothes!!!!!!! Wahooo!!!! If you haven't had a chance to see Olympia's apartment click here! Her closet is to die for, so I was soo excited to raid her closet!!! Aside from wearing all of Olympia's amazing clothes, one of my favourite purchases from my trip to NY was this Rachel Rachel Roy sweater. Every winter, I always live in one sweater and wear it obsessively and this is my new "LIVE IN SWEATER!" It's so hard not to wear it everyday because I love how soft it is and the color is so grungy cool. And I also wear it as a dress too! They were also having an insane sale at Macy's and it was only $40.00! And thankfully they are still having the sale online. The sweater comes in grey and black/silver! It was originally $89.00 and then got reduced to $53.00 and then they take 30% off at checkout! and it becomes around $40.00. It's a really amazing deal! And it's definitely sweater weather! Click here to see it! (P.S. For sizing I got an XL because I like it really cozy!) Pin It Now!

Backstage Ports 1961 Pre- Fall 2011 Photoshoot!

We were soo excited when our amazing friend and incredible stylist, Tu Ly asked us to come backstage to preview the Ports 1961 photoshoot for Pre-Fall 2011. It all took place in NY and in their gorgeous loft studio that let in the most amazing sunlight, which went perfectly with their theme. The collection is called L'heure Bleue, which is "the moment just before sunrise and just after dusk... it's a moment when everything seems to slow down to a heartbeat and everything seems full of possibility." The clothes are beautiful and designer Fiona Cibiani did an amazing job! The draping and construction of each piece is so sophisticated and elegant. The color palette is filled with navy, all shades of blues and teals with hints of burnt oranges, warm browns and pale pinks. It's a ballerina ladylike chic. The jewelry is made out of ostrich feathers with delicate chains. Ports 1961 is known for their classic couture techniques and Michelle Obama was seen wearing Ports last month! Fiona is the sweetest and we had so much fun with her! All of the models were running around getting photographed and changing into their next looks, for the photoshoot, while there was a launch of the Ports Menswear label in the next room. There was a lot of great food, champagne and lots to celebrate! See us and Fiona in last picture! To see the whole collection click here!

Samantha- Holiday Cheer + Zebra

Jacket- Handknit jacket by Rose Jurisich from The One of a Kind Show in Toronto
Plaid top- Vintage plaid shirt (no label) from Hells Kitchen Flea Market
Pants- Marni green pants from Marni store in NYC
Jacket- Striped jacket (borrowed from Caillianne) by Armani Exchange from Andrew's store in Toronto
Gloves- Black leather gloves by Danier from Danier store in Toronto
Hat- Handknit Peruvian hat from the One of a Kind Show in Toronto
Bag- Leopard Betsey Johnson bag from Betsey Johnson store in Toronto
Shoes- Vintage leopard Doc Martens from Chelsea Flea Market in NYC

The Look: Holiday Cheer + Zebra

Fun Fact: I got this handknit hat from this amazing woman from the One of a Kind Show in Toronto who knits everything from sweaters to hats, leg warmers and gloves. She gets the yarn from an Alpaca farm in Ontario and she makes the hats double layered, so they are super warm and soft. It takes her two days to make a hat, so this one is really special to me. Flea Market Holiday Time!

We went to the Chelsea Flea Market in New York also known as the "Garage" and found it decked with Holiday cheer! The best thing about it, is that everyone was doing major deals because of the timing being so close to Christmas! In the last two posts, we are wearing our purchases like Samantha's denim jacket and Caillianne's black floral dress and art deco pin. We had the best day hanging with our amazing friend Kayla and seeing all of our favourite vendors. One of them is Mike (see pic below) joking around with us in the mink stole and boxing gloves. If you stop by this flea market, definitely stop by and say hello to Mike...he has the BEST STUFF! It was pouring rain all day and it was such a treat being bundled inside searching for treasures! We wanted to wish everyone a Happy Holiday, Merry Christmas and lots of love!!
*The Chelsea Flea Market is open every Saturday and Sunday at 24th Street and 6th Avenue from sunrise to sunset. It has two floors and the top floor of the garage is accessed on 25th Street and 6th Avenue
